Liz, Bonnie and Warren,
Betsy and I wish to send our condolences to all of you on the passing of Don. He was a quiet gentle Giant that I was glad to know.

It was with great sadness that I learned of Dr. Swartz's passing. I had the pleasure of working with him on several occasions and found him to be a warm, caring and intelligent physician. Dr. Swartz made sure that things were done in the proper manner, not in the "easy" way.
My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. His life has left many cherished memories for those of us that were lucky enough to have known him.

To the Swartz Family:
I'm so sorry for your loss. Dr. Swartz was a wonderful person, mentor, colleague and friend. He was very dedicated to his patients and the residents at Albany Med. I'm sure his knowledge and legacy will continue forever. I will miss him.

To the Swartz Family,
Dr. Swartz exemplified the true "teacher". As one of the many residents that he trained, I am truly fortunate to have known him. He not only taught me to be a skilled surgeon but also how to be a caring and compassionate physician. Twenty-seven years have passed by yet I refer to what he taught me every day. He was the quintessential role model and he will never be forgotten. His life's work will live on forever through those of us he taught and through those many patients he cared for. His life is a blessing for us all.

Dr. Swartz was an amazing educator, brillant scientist and an incredible mentor to so many people. I had the distinct pleasure of working for and with him for 4 years and I will treasure each memory and the lessons he taught me throughout that short period of time. He was a truly gifted gentleman with a caring heart and a brillant mind and will be deeply missed.
