I just read of Pete's death in the Cortland Alumni magazine. Pete and I roomed together all of our freshman year at Cortland in Hayes Hall and all or most of our sophmore year in the Waldman home off campus. We could not have been more different. I was Oscar to his Felix, He was Italian to my Jewish.He was a good spirit and a nice boy.We were boys. That is how I will remember him. We haven't had any contact since the end of the school year in 1966. His impossibly short crewcut and his frugality always made me laugh. He will always be a young man in my memory. Rest in peace Pete.

To Dr. DiNardo's Family and Close Friends;
I would like to say what a tragic loss this is, as this saddens me so. As stated by others, Peter DiNardo had a way of inspiring greatness! His energetic lectures and consistent availabilty for consultation had to make him one of my most influential mentors. I took two classes with him, worked on a research project, and he was always one of the many professors at Oneonta that I wish I had more time to learn from. The Faculty in the Psychology Department are all wonderful, so Peter was definately in the right place! This is such a loss not only to his family and friends, but to the students who never got a chance to learn from him. Best Wishes to everyone!

I can only say that news of Pete's death was both a shock and a great tragedy. For many years Pete came into my course on Culture and Personality as a guest lecturer. We talked as colleagues for hours in the hallways of SUCO. Of all the colleagues that I had during those years that we taught together, no one was a better companion and friend. I shall miss him dearly.

I am shocked and at a loss of words. I was just thinking about how I needed to pay him a visit or send him a quick note to thank him again for making my college experience wonderful. He taught my first psychology class and from then on, he couldn’t get rid of me! I took every class he taught, I was on his research team, and was his teacher assistant. I am proud to say I learned from the best! He inspired and left a lasting impression on not only myself but all the students he taught. I am grateful to have had such a wonderful professor and mentor. He will definitely be missed.

To Pete's family:
There are no words to express my sadness over Pete's sudden passing, and I am just so very sorry for your loss. When I still lived in Oneonta, Pete, who was a colleague of my husband Bill Starna, was a dear friend. More than once did I hear stories about how he and Bill exchanged recipes in the Psych department lunch room and rated each other's lunches, with Pete usually proudly displaying what his mother had prepared for him that day. As well, I can still see his smile when one day I encountered him in front of Fizzell Hall surrounded by what seemed to be every student in sight: He had brought Hudson as a puppy for a tour of the campus. Pete was a fun and wonderfully gentle soul, with whom we shared many stories about Italy and food and life.
My deepest sympathies!

To the family of Pete Di Nardo (especially you, Elaine),
We are so very sorry to learn of your loss. We had the absolute pleasure and privilege of working with Pete at Suny-Albany at the Phobia and Anxiety Disorders Clinic. We would eagerly await Pete's weekly arrival at the Clinic, always with a sparkle in his eyes and his radiant smile. His sense of humor was the highlight of our week. Always plenty of chuckles with Pete in house. Truly one of the sweetest people we've ever met. He e-mailed me just a few weeks ago and we had hoped to catch up at a psychology conference in Orlando this November. He truly was an amazing man, both personally and professionally. His loss will be certainly be felt by his numerous friends and colleagues in the field.
Elaine, he always spoke so dearly of his wonderful sister. How blessed you were to have him as your brother. He will be with you always.
With heartfelt sympathy,
