Frieda H. Gauger

Gauger, Frieda H. EASTHAMPTON, Mass. Frieda H. (Sander) Gauger, 94, of Easthampton left Friday, September 19, 2008 to be with her Lord surrounded by her family at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany. She was born in Easthampton, February 5, 1914, the daughter of the late Karl and Helena (Wild) Sander. Educated in the East-hampton Schools, Frieda was a graduate of Easthampton High School. Frieda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Easthampton, a member of the Ladies Aid Society, Lutheran Women's Missionary League, taught Sunday school at the church for several years, and was a long time choir member. Her husband Leon Gauger predeceased her in 1975. She leaves her children, Leon Gauger Jr. of Lempster, N.H., John M. Gauger of West Springfield, Eric P. Gauger and his wife Jackie of Worthington, Gary A. Gauger and his wife Linda of Naples, Fla., Kurt E. Gauger of Easthampton and Mary C. Gauger her daughter and caregiver with whom she lived in Delmar; her sister, Elsa Genois of Charlotte, N.C.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, followed by burial in Brookside Cemetery, both in Easthampton. Calling hours will be held Tuesday 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 17 Clark St., East-hampton, MA 01027.
