Guiseppe Ravida

Ravida, Guiseppe ALBANY Guiseppe "Joe" Ravida, 77, of Albany, died Friday, September 26, 2008 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital. Mr. Ravida was born in Patti/Scala, Messina, Sicily. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1962, and settled in Albany. He was employed for many years by the Laborers Union Local 190 in Albany, and was an active communicant of St. Margaret Mary's Church in Albany. His favorite pastime was the care of his two large gardens, which were his pride and joy as well as his day trips to Lake George with his family. Mr. Ravida is survived by his beloved wife Tina Longo Ravida; his sons, Frank Ravida of Colonie, and Salvatore Ravida of Slingerlands; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members living in Sicily. He was predeceased by his sister, Josephine Scholaro. The family would like to thank the staff of St. Peter's Hospice Inn and the staff on 4 Nolan at St. Peter's Hospital for their compassion and the wonderful care they provided to Joe. Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany, Tuesday morning at 8:15, and from there to St. Margaret Mary's Church, Homestead St., Albany at 9:00. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home Monday from 4-7 p.m. Entombment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
