Gary Bristol Obituary

Bristol, Gary L. Sr. TROY Gary L. Bristol Sr., 64, of Third Avenue, beloved husband of Dorothy Granger Bristol, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Lake Regional General Hospital in Laconia, N.H. Born and educated in Troy, he was the son of the late Parker E. and Irene Therrian Bristol. Mr. Bristol had been employed as an oven operator at Freihofer's Baking Co. in Albany for 22 years. He was an avid NASCAR fan. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He enjoyed camping and sitting around the campfire with his family and especially his grandchildren. Survivors in addition to his wife Dorothy, are his three devoted children, Gary L. (Kelley) Bristol Jr., Thomas ( Kelly) Bristol, and Tracy (Thomas) Bristol-Strock, all of Troy; his siblings, Clifford Bristol of Troy, Sally Simon of Lakeland, Fla., Joan Robinson of Lakeland, Fla., and Barbara Simon of Albany; also survived by his six cherished grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Wednesday morning at 8:45 a.m. from the John J. Sanvidge Funeral Home, Inc. (Corner of 115th Street and Fourth Avenue) in Lansingburgh, thence to St. Augustine's Church, Lansingburgh, where at 9:30 a.m., the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Entombment will be held in St. Agnes Mausoleum, Menands.
