Jeannette Helwig Obituary

Helwig, Jeannette WYNANTSKILL Jeannette Morand Helwig, age 78, wife of the late Robert A. Helwig, died on Sunday, October 12, 2008 at Samaritan Hospital in Troy. Born in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Rene and Alice LeBlanc Morand. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart Elementary School and Catholic Central High School, both in Troy. She was a homemaker, worked for the N.Y. Telephone Co. and worked for 20 years as a clerk at the Roxy Cleaners in Wynantskill before retiring. She was a charter member of St. Jude the Apostle Church in Wynantskill, a member of the church's Alter Rosary Society and a member of the ladies auxiliary of the Wynantskill Fire Dept. Mrs. Helwig is survived by her children, Judith M. (Frank) Breslor of Averill Park, Robert R. Helwig of Glenville, David P. (Christine) Helwig of Poestenkill and Denise T. (Scott) Baker of Stephentown; her sisters, Irene Cramer of Clifton Park and Harriet Weyenmeyer of Bedford, Ohio; her brothers, Roland Morand of Perumph, Nev. and Paul Morand of Palm Coast, Fla.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a bother, Henry Morand. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be from the Thomas S. Connolly Funeral Home, 294 Whiteview Rd., Wynantskill on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m. and at 9:30 a.m. in St. Jude the Apostle Church, Wynantskill where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Salvatore Rodino, pastor. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Wynantskill. Calling hours will be at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions to the St. Jude the Apostle Church Memorial Fund, 43 Brookside Ave., Wynantskill, NY 12198 in memory of Mrs. Helwig would be appreciated.
