Raymond E. Reisner

Reisner, Raymond E. WATERVLIET Raymond E. Reisner, 80, passed away Friday, October 24, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy following a brief illness. Born in Albany on April 7, 1928, he was the son of the late Louis and Kathrine Carson Reisner. He was raised and educated in Albany and proudly served his country during the Korean War as a member of the United States Marine Corps. On his return from the service, he married the love of his life, Marian "Jean" Giaquinto and started a family. This year marked the 56th year of marriage together. Raymond and his family were longtime communicants of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Watervliet and he had been employed at the Allegheny Ludlum Steel Corporation as an inspector prior to his retirement in 1990. He was an avid New York Yankees and Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed reading and was a Civil War buff and historian. His greatest joys were his wife and family. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. His beloved sons have indicated that he was simply the finest person they ever met and was their best friend. He will be sorely missed by all. Survivors in addition to his wife include his cherished sons, Raymond, and his wife Rhonda L. Reisner and Daniel Reisner of Watervliet; treasured grandchildren, Kristen (Eric), Lisa, Danny, and their mother Diane Boyd; his great-grandson, Austin; his brother, Gilbert (Toni) Reisner of Latham; his sister-in-law, Theresa Kenna, and brother-in-law, Lou (Marilyn) Giaquinto; and several nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his brother, Robert Reisner and sister, Marge Reisner Igo. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 27 9:30 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, 515 Nineteenth St., Watervliet with interment to follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited and may call on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet.
