Larry Dubuque Obituary

Dubuque, Larry R. LATHAM Larry R. Dubuque, 72, of Latham, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 11, 2007 Albany Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. Born in Grand Isle, Vt., on September 9, 1935 and raised in Albany, he was the son of the late Laurence and Elizabeth (Beshaw) Dubuque and stepson of the late Nelson Sourdiff. It was on June 11, 1960 that Larry married his beloved, the former Virginia A. Flanagan; the two shared a blessed union of 47 years. Larry was a letter carrier employed by U.S. Postal Service. He delivered mail in the Albany, Colonie and Loudonville area for 30 years, until retiring in 1990. He was a member of the Colonie Elks Lodge #2192 and a 45-year member of the National Association of Letter Carriers. Larry enjoyed fishing, gardening and, most of all, spending summers with his family at their camp in Grand Isle. A Latham resident since 1974, he was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church. Survivors in addition to his loving wife, include his loving children, Justina (Andrew) Treventi of Loudonville and Steven (Missy) Dubuque of East Greenbush; his four cherished grandchildren, Stephanie Tre-venti, Brian, Cody, and Dylan Dubuque; his brother, Gerald Sourdiff of Albany; his brother-in-law, Dr. Thomas (Mary) Flanagan of Queensbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and John Scully. Funeral services will take place on Monday, October 15 at 11:00 a.m. from the St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham where Larry's Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Francis Dubois, pastor. Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Monday, October 15 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Ambrose Church, 347 Old Loudon Road, Latham or at the home of Justina Treventi after 2:00 p.m. (call funeral home for directions: 785-8161). Interment will take place in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Larry's honor to Michele Ferrauilo, CTRS Adaptive Sports/National Games - 117, Stratton VA Medical Center,113 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY 12208. Gloria and I recently returned from Florida and were saddened to learn of Larry's passing. We were neighbors for many years and enjoyed the annual Christmas and New Year's Eve celebrations at the Elks with Larry and Ginny and Mac and Betty Pais.
Our condolences to Ginny, Tina and Steve on their loss.
