Julia Tranter Obituary

Tranter, Julia Ann SCHENECTADY Julia Ann "Judy" Tranter, 83, at rest Tuesday, October 16, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Coeymans, N.Y., Julia was the daughter of the late Alesandro and Erminia Bottacchiari. Julia was the office manager of the St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. of Schenectady, retiring after many years service. For 58 years, Julia was the beloved wife of Lionel E. "Lee" Tranter who died in 2004. She was the beloved mother of Dr. Mary Archambault (John) of Charleston, S.C., Mr. John Tranter (Diana) of Charlton, N.Y., Mr. Robert Tranter of North Bergin, N.J. and Mrs. Margaret Catroppa (David) of Galway; loving grandmother of Benjamin John Archambault of Charleston and Rachael Marie Tranter of Charlton; beloved sister of Mrs. Vera Montanari of Guilderland, Edith Kufs of Latham, N.Y. and the late William Botts, Joseph Botts, Mary Lent Longo, Margaret Sherman, and Jenny Botts. Julia will be remembered for her love of life and vibrant personality. A calling period will be held Thursday, October 15, 2007 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam, with a memorial service to immediately follow at 8 p.m. A service will be held Friday 2 p.m. at the committal shelter of the Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Community Hospice of Schenectady or the American Cancer Society.
