Carlton Richard Obituary

Richard, Carlton A. ST. CLOUD, Fla. Carlton (Carl) Richard, 88, of St. Cloud, passed away early Saturday morning, October 27, 2007 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Harmony, Fla. Born in St. Albans, Vt. on May 10, 1919, he was the son of the late Peter and Emma Gagnon Richard. Carl lived in Albany and Colonie most of his life but spent his last 11 years in Fla. He proudly served with the National Guard and then continued to serve the entire war with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for the N.Y. Central RR, owned his own business and retired from the State of New York. Carl had a love for life and a family who adored him. Married on April 20, 1947, he was predeceased by his loving wife Ann Vinciquerra Richard. They had 48 terrific years together and had four loving daughters, Carol Short (Steve) of Cicero, N.Y., Diane Donovan (Mike) of Houston, Texas, Rosemary Dewing (Rich) of Harmony, and Patty Thoresen (Jim) of Dennis, Mass.; beloved grandfather of Jason, Mickey, Shannon, Jamie, Melanie, Lance and Stephanie; cherished great- grandfather of Joshua, Christian, Samantha, Ryan, Jaylynn, Zoe and Johnathan; brother of the late Doris Richard, Madeline Richard, Theresa Little, Betty Powell and Francis Richard. Several nieces and nephews survive Carl. Funeral services Thursday at 12:45 p.m. from the McVeigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 1:15 p.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Thursday prior to the Mass in the funeral home, 10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment will follow the Mass in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
