Young In, you were one of the most beautiful person I have ever met- beauty that was not just superficial but was from deep within. Your presence lightened the room and you always brought with you a feeling of freshness. We all in the Melendez lab often think about you and miss you deeply. You will forever live in our memories.

Although my acquaintance with Young In was brief, I am deeply sadden to loose a sister in Christ. I admired her love and passion for wanting to help the people of North Korea. I extend my prayers and condolences to the Lee family.

I had the joy of knowing Young In briefly while I was living in Albany for 2 years. I remember her cheerful personality, strong work ethic, unwavering faith and the ability she had of lighting up a room. My thoughts and prayers go out to the Lee family. Young In, you are missed.

My acquaintance with Young In was far too brief, but in the time she studied organ with me, I came to know her as a talented and vibrant young woman. Words cannot begin to express the extent of my shock and sorrow. Young In was with us for far too short a time, but her presence was surely a joy we will long remember.

Young In Lee was my student and my friend. She used to stay late after our class and play the piano and sometimes drove me to the train station and we talked about her life and her dreams. She was a compassionate person who was worried about how to best help those she loved. I am broken hearted at this great loss and hope we work together to remember her and honor her.
