Rose Pape Obituary

Pape, Rose M. COLONIE Rose M. Pape, 76, of Eddy-Ford Nursing Home, Cohoes, died peacefully Friday evening, November 9, 2007 after a long illness. Born on October 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ida Vendura and Philip Carona of Frankfort, N.Y. After graduating from Frankfort High School in 1949, she married the late Robert J. Pape of Herkimer, N.Y. Following her marriage, she dedicated her life to her husband and her two children, Robert J. (Marie McCallum) Pape Jr. and Pamela (Thomas) Lamb. Rose was an extraordinary hostess and her home was often the gathering place for many everyday feasts and special holidays. In earlier years, she was employed by Syracuse China in Albany and General Electric Company in New Hartford, N.Y. Rose was a communicant of Our Lady of Mercy Church in Colonie. She was the sister of the late Angelo Carona, Louis (Mary Lou) Carona, Clara (Alex) Tasovac, Jack (Dolores) Carona, and Marian (Dominic) Ganci. She is survived by four loving grandchildren, Audrey Connor Pape, Elise Talbot Pape, Thomas Edward Lamb II, and Evan Vincent Lamb; nieces, Ellen Taso-vac, Maryann (Michael) Wright, Christine (Daniel) Beney, and Mary Noel (Jude) Reardon, Gwen Ganci, Suzanne Carter, Marianne (Earl) Hoosier; and nephews, Richard (Mary) Ganci, Jack (Sandy) Carona, James (Shannon) Carona, Philip Carona, and Joseph (Caroline) Casale. She is also survived by her devoted sister-in- law, Frances (Joseph) Casale; and dearest friend and angel on earth, Dorothy Rice. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and may call at the New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday morning at 9:30 at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 26 Wilson Ave, Colonie, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. and Pam, Seeing you both brought back too many memories to mention but I will always remember hanging out at my home away from home. The
nights your Mom and Dad put up with us as we bounced the basketball off
of the house for the 20th time or sat in your family room listening to
music. They were great parents and you both should be proud.

Rose will hold a very special place in my heart. I am very fortunate to have had the chance to get to know her under the circumstances. I will never forget her answer "Oh!! Fair to Midland". to "How are you today?"
My deepest sympathies to all of Roes's family. She will be missed.!! May she rest in peace. And may you take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

Rose was a very special lady and we were so fortunate she came to us at Eddy Ford. I will miss our visits but am glad she is now at peace. My sympathy to all Rose's family and friends.
