Frank C. Penk Jr.

Penk, Frank C. Jr. PORT ORANGE, Fla. Frank C. Penk Jr., age 74, of South Nova Road, Port Orange, died peacefully Sunday, October 28, 2007 in Fla. following a long illness. He was born July 13, 1933 in Latham, N.Y. and a graduate of Heatley High School in Green Island. Frank was the son of the late Frank C. and Elizabeth C. Mosher Penk Sr. He was the husband of Beverly J. Jesmain Penk, whom he married August 1, 1956 in Troy. Frank was an owner and mechanic of Penk Bros. Automotive in Watervliet. He also had worked for the Ballston Spa National Bank and the town of Schaghticoke. He was a Korean combat veteran, serving in the Army and a life member of the Charles Waldron American Legion Post in Schaghticoke. He was a member of the American Riffle Association, Teamsters Union Local 190, and a supporter of the New York State Conservation Society. In addition to his wife, Beverly; he is survived by a son, Hugh Penk of Cohoes; daughters, Gail E. (Joseph ) Rosch of Port Orange, Fla. and Melanie B. (Keith) Bonenfant of Fall Brook, Calif.; sister and brothers include Pamella J. (Leroy W.) Fay of Troy, James F. Penk of Troy, Etta G. (George) Jones of Troy, Linda Russell of Rome, Richard J. (Betty) Penk of Melrose, Joyce S. (Kenneth) Gorcesky of Mechanicville, Kenneth D. (Donna) Penk of Ballston Spa, Dawn D. (Hahl) Marar of Delmar, and Carla A. (Derek) Jackson of Ballston Spa. Also survived by seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and 27 nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 15 at 8:00 p.m. at the Chase Funeral Home, 173 Main Street, Schaghticoke with the Reverend Mary Woodman, pastor of the Presbyterian United Church, Schaghticoke, officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Chase Funeral Home Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville on Friday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m. with full military honors.
