William Temple Obituary

Temple, William J. "Bill" TROY, N.Y. William J. "Bill" Temple, 86, of Woodrow Court, for over 64 years, the beloved husband to Jean Fuller Temple of Troy, entered into eternal life on Friday, November 23, 2007 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late William S. and Catherine Eberle Temple and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School. Mr. Temple was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving in the South Pacific Theater and had also served in the US Navy Reserve. He retired from Morgan Linen Services in Menands and had previously been employed by the United Traction Company in Troy. Bill also owned and operated Bill Temple's Flying A Service Station on Brunswick Avenue in Troy. Bill was a member of the Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church in Troy as well as the church bowling league. He had also been a member of the Tibbits Cadets where he had been a past president and member of the board of trustees. Bill was friendly, always had a smile and was always there to give a helping hand. He also enjoyed woodworking. Devoted father of Patricia J. (Richard) Hanken of Americus, Ga., William J. (Dawn) Temple, Jr. of Ballston Lake and Gary B. (Christine) Temple of Niskayuna; brother of Donald Temple of Troy and the late Harold and George Temple and Shirley Benoit; grandfather of Erik and Hans Beck, Jennifer Suplee, Joseph T. Connell and Cory J. Temple, Brian and Evan Temple, Erin Cleary and Kendra Farstad, great- grandfather of Coty and Sophia Beck, Bella Farstad and Kelly Averett; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral will be held on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the Morris-Stebbins-Miner & San-vidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street in Troy, where Pastor Karyl Hopp, Pawling Avenue United Methodist Church, will officiate. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be held in Elmwood Hill Cemetery, Troy.
