Heidemarie Dowling

Dowling, Heidemarie LATHAM Heidemarie Dowling, 59, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at Albany Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Born in Brunsbuttel, Germany on October 6, 1948, she was the daughter of the late Kurt and Auguste Lellesch Jorczyk and the beloved wife of the late John L. "Jack" Dowling Jr., who predeceased her in 2006. She was raised and educated in Germany and emigrated to this country in 1970. Heidemarie was a homemaker who, along with Jack, raised her family in Green Island, where she resided until a year ago. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. In her leisure time, she enjoyed playing bingo and had traveled to Foxwoods for bingo tournaments. She enjoyed scenic rides in the country with her husband and family. She loved all kinds of music especially the Beatles and enjoyed attending musical concerts locally. Heidemarie was very proud of her German heritage and traveled to the various German festivals in the Catskill mountains often to celebrate her love of that. She was loved by all who knew her and will be missed. Survivors include her cherished children, Alexandra Dowling of Cohoes, Nancy (Edward) Simon of Melrose, and Mark Dowling of Latham; her treasured grandchildren, Andrea Schnapp and Laura, Matthew, and Edward Simon; and her sisters, Karen Jorczyk of Fla. and Jutta Jorczyk of Germany. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1 at 10:00 a.m. at Parker Bros. Memorial Funeral Home, 2013 Broadway, Watervliet. Interment will follow in Memory's Garden in Colonie. Friends and relatives are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
