Ernest Romanofski Obituary

Romanofski, Ernest J. GUILDERLAND Ernest J. "Ernie" Romanofski, 52, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2007, at his home, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Born in Niskayuna, he is the son of Joan M. Roman-ofski and the late Ernest R. Romano-fski. At the time of his death, Ernie was an accountant for the New York State Thruway Authority. He was a very active member of Vettes in Perfection, the Albany-Schenectady Harley Owners Group, and the Coxsackie Yacht Club. Mr. Romanofski was a communicant of St. Madeleine Sophie Church in Guilderland where he served as an usher for many years. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Bonni J. (Klein) Romanofski. He is the devoted father of Michelle L. Riganti and her husband, Joseph of Averill Park. He is the brother of Rosemary (Richard) Newton of Colonie. Ernie is the cherished "Poppie" of Ella and Frankie Riganti. Also surviving are many loving family members, friends and neighbors. Ernie's family would like to thank the entire staff of New York Oncology & Hematology at Albany Medical Center for the excellent care given to Ernie during his illness. Funeral services will be Wednesday morning at 9:15 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) then to St. Madeleine Sophie Church at 10:00 a.m. where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Albany, 445 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205 in memory of Ernest J. Romanofski.
