Frances Marchese Obituary

Marchese, Frances TROY Frances Mary Marchese, 90, of Sherman Ave., Troy died Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Northwoods Nursing Home. Born in Troy on August 25, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Mary DeAcetis Finelli. Frances was the loving and devoted wife of the late Lozzette Marchese whom she was married to for 66 years. Frances lived 73 of her 90 years in the city of Troy, having resided 17 years in the village of Waterford. While in Waterford, Frances was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She was an active member of the St. Mary's Altar Society as well as the school's PTA. She was very pleased and proud to have been a member of the St. Mary's School founding committee. Through the years Frances was also an active member of the Catholic Daughters, St. Joseph's PTA, and the Altar Society, and the Troy Italian Community Center. While a member of the ICC, she earned respect of the area wide competitors displaying her skills on the local bocci courts. Throughout her 90 years, family, home, and loved ones were the primary focus of Frances' life. With the loss of her mother at an early age, she left school after grade eight and went to work for Cluett Peabody, working for the next ten years, earning money to help support her ten younger brothers and sisters. Years later after having married Lozzette, her special talents served as the centerpeice for three generations of family gatherings. Survivors include her children, Michael Marchese (Glenda) of Texas, Carmen Marchese (Candace) of Troy, Robert Marchese (Linda) of Cape Cod, and Frances Weaver (Robert) of Calif. She is also survived by her brother John Finelli (Mary); and her sisters, Philomenia Mangione, Sr. Carmel Finelli S.A., and Patricia Finelli. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Frances was predeceased by her brothers, Frank Finelli, Anthony Finelli, and Sam Finelli; and her late sisters, Antoinette Catello, Louise Donato, and Stella Bizzaro; and her late daughters-in-law, Lorraine Joly Marchese, and Regina Charpen-tier Marchese; and her grandson, Carmen Anthony Marchese. Fran, Vanessa and Family,
My condolences at this time to let you know you are in my heart and prayers. I loved her and miss her, but I know to be absent from this world is to be present with the Lord, I also know that God is happy when His saints come home and your Father too. May the Angels watch over all of you as you say your farewell, cause it's never good-bye.
God bless and keep each one of you.
Willie, Phaedra and Janice.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Michael, Carmen, Bob and Fran,
Please accept our most sincere condolences on the loss of your Mother and our beloved Aunt Fran. My family has been praying for her for quite some time. Unfortunately for us who are left behind, the answer to our prayer was not the one we were looking for. Only your Mom truly knows the Glory of the Heavenly Kingdom as she has now been "promoted" to eternal bliss. We will miss her forever...With Love, Toddy & Greg; Anissa, Marissa & Gabriella; and Trevor and Tovah
