John Scally Obituary

Scally, John F. Sr. COLONIE John F. Scally Sr., 71, of Colonie, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 1, 2007. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Thomas F. Scally Sr. and Marion A. (Neubaur) Scally. Mr. Scally was a lifelong resident of the Capital District. John served in the U.S. Army for six years. He worked for Pepsi-Cola for 36 years until his retirement. Upon retiring he worked for both the Stadium Golf Course and Hertz Rental Car. Overall, John was a sports enthusiast. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Eastern New York Golf Association. He also enjoyed skiing and was a member of the U.S. Eastern Amateur Ski Association and the Out of Control Ski Club. He was a longtime communicant of St. Clare's Church in Colonie. John enjoyed spending his winters in Myrtle Beach, S.C. He is the beloved father of John F. Scally Jr. and his wife, Bridget of Altamont and Brian P. Scally of Albany. He is the loving brother of Thomas F. Scally Jr. and his wife, Margaret of Ky., Joann E. Paulsen and her husband, Carl of Schenectady and Mary Ellen Conboy and her husband, Jordan of Clifton Park. John is the former husband of Mary Anne Harper. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews and golfing buddies. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday morning at 9:00 at St. Clare's Church, Colonie. Calling hours will be Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave).
