Donald F. Magin

Magin, Donald F. ALBANY Donald F. Magin, 83, died Sunday, December 2, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital. Son of the late Frank and Alice Sheehan Magin, Mr. Magin was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident of the Capital District area. He was a 1942 graduate of the Vincentian Institute. Following service in the U.S. Army during World War II, Mr. Magin worked for over 25 years in the family business - Magin's Luggage and Leather Goods on Washington Ave. in Albany, N.Y. After closing the family business, he spent many years bartending at Joe's Caterers, Wolferts Roost and Club 21. Not content in remaining inactive in retirement, in his 70s Donald went to work at True Value Hardware in East Greenbush. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marie Piombino Magin; father of Donald (Margaret) Magin, Kevin (Susan) Magin and the late Deborah Bedinotti; also survived by his son-in-law, Thomas Bedinotti; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Gerald Magin. Funeral services will be held Thursday evening 5:30 at the Magin & Keegan Funeral Home, 891 Madison Ave. Relatives and friends are invited and may also call at the funeral home Thursday after 4 p.m. Interment, Friday 11:00 at St. Agnes Cemetery.
