Philip Horgan Obituary

Horgan, Philip J. LATHAM Philip J. Horgan, 82, of Latham, died on December 3, 2007 at the Ellis Hospital after a short illness. Born in Pittsfield, Mass., he was the son of the late Jeremiah and Mary Shalley Horgan and the husband of Alice Monahan Horgan of Latham. Mr. Horgan was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute class of 1949 and was an Air Force navigator serving during World War II. He retired from the General Electric Company in Schenectady in 1985 as a mechanical engineer. Mr. Horgan was a member of St. Ambrose Church and its Young in Heart Club and enjoyed skiing with the CASTA Cross Country Ski Club. Survivors in addition to his wife include his children, Philip J. (Jerry) Horgan Jr. of Niskayuna, Thomas M. Horgan and his wife Deborah of Beaverton, Ore., Christopher J. Horgan and his wife Susan of San Jose, Calif. and Virginia (Ginny) Horgan of Niskayuna; also survived by his grandchildren, Caitlin, Chad, Kailin, Preston, Katherine and Christina. Predeceased by his brothers, Gerald and John Horgan. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. from St. Ambrose Church in Latham where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery in Troy. Friends are invited and may call at the Frank P. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, 870 Second Avenue (124th and 125th Streets) in Lansingburgh on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. If desired, contributions may be made to St. Ambrose Church, Old Loudon Road, Latham, NY 12110.
