Joseph Capone Obituary

Capone, Joseph J. GREENVILLE Joseph J. Capone, 92, of Greenville, N.Y., passed away at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital on December 5, 2007. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. on November 29, 1915, son of the late Clemens and Albina (Pecoraro) Capone. Joe served in the US Army during World War II being discharged as a staff sgt. Joe and his family moved to Greenville from Brooklyn in 1952 and he worked for Perini Bros. as a road supervisor, working on the NYS Thruway, the Berkshire Turnpike and the Northway. He was a life member of the Greenville Vol. Fire Co. with over 50 years of service. Retiring in 1977, he and his wife spent the winter months in Naples, Fla. He enjoyed woodworking and made bird houses and wall clocks. A friend to all he met, he will be missed by his loving family and many friends. Surviving is his loving wife, Pearl (Puleo) Capone; two sons, John Capone of Naples, Fla. and Robert Capone (Jackie Peluso) of Greenville, N.Y.; a sister, Florence Luglio (100 years old) of Hicksville, N.Y. Service will be Saturday 10 a.m. from the Cunningham Funeral Home, Greenville, N.Y. with a Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Church, Greenville, N.Y. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday 4 to 8 p.m. Interment with military honors will be in the Greenville Cemetery. The Green-ville Vol. Fire Co. will conduct services at the funeral home on Friday 7:30 p.m. Those who desire may contribute in his memory to the Columbia/Greene Community Hospice, 47 Liberty St., Catskill, NY 12414.
