Mildred Sisto Obituary

Sisto, Mildred E. MECHANICVILLE Mrs. Mildred E. Sisto, 85, of North Second Street, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Northwoods of Troy, after a brief illness. Born in Auburn, N.Y., January 12, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Harriet Mowbray. Mrs. Sisto was a machine operator for the former Thomas A. Galante and Sons of Mechanicville for 30 years, before her retirement. A member of the Assumption-St. Paul Church in Mechanicville, she was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed reading and her soap operas, but most of all, she loved the time spent with her grandchildren and their families. She was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Louis C. Sisto, who died June 26, 1982. Survivors include her four children, Ann (Joel DePeaux) Leonard of Mechanicville, Louis (Lynne) Sisto of The Villages, Fla., Sharon (Richard) Watson of Ft. Myers, Fla. and John (Diane) Sisto of Stillwater. Also her nine cherished grandchildren, Scott (Maryellen), Michael (Kathleen) and Michelle Leonard, Amanda (Steven) Woods, Christina and Richard (Heather) Watson, Jennifer (Michael) Carroll, Louis and Dorothy Sisto, along with ten great-grand, a great-great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Assumption-St. Paul William Street Church. Burial in St. Paul's Cemetery. Calling hours at the DeVito-Salvadore Funeral Home, 39 So. Main St., Mechanicville on Friday from 4-7 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Patients Fund of Northwoods of Troy, 100 New Turnpike Road, Troy, NY 12180.
