For many years my mother would take me to Corbat's on Central Ave. for my shoes. Due to my having very wide feet, Mr. Freedman didn't always have something for me. But he NEVER tried to sell us shoes that weren't perfect for my feet. If he had nothing, he'd see us coming in and simply shake his head to tell us nothing in 3EEE was in-stock. We'd just turn around and leave.

He was always honest, courteous and attentive. Though it has been many decades since I saw him last at Corbat's at the Colonie Center, I'll never forget his face. Special people are remembered.

Dear Marilyn, Steve, Mona, Joan & family -
I am at a loss of words to express my sorrow. My memories of Chuck go back as far as I can remember of my lifetime, including my first paying job as Buster Brown at Corbat's! Chuck was a great godfather to me and I will always remember him.

I remember going to visit your Dad at the shoe store on Central Avenue, Mona. I think we were at Milne by then. I remember always being welcomed at the house when you all lived on Ramsey too.
My heart and thoughts go out to you and your family in this time of sorrow.
