Jerome Coleman Obituary

Coleman, Jerome P. LOUDONVILLE Jerome P. (Jerry) Coleman, 81, formerly of Menands Rd. died Friday evening December 7, 2007 at the Saratoga Hospital after a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of the late Joseph and Margaret O'Gara Coleman. Jerry lived in the area for over 65 years, he graduated from the former Keveny Academy in 1944; then he attended the University of Albany and graduated with a bachelor and master's degree of arts. He was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army signal corps. He was employed by the Lansingburgh School District from 1952 and he retired as assistant superintendent in 1983; after retirement he served as director of the New York State Reading Teachers Association for 10 years. Jerry is survived by his two sisters Virginia Morris of Cohoes and Florence Holohan of Liverpool, he was predeceased by his brother Joseph Coleman. He was the loving uncle of Virginia Morris, Barbara Morris, Joseph Coleman, John Holohan, Kathleen Seymour, Margaret Condenni, Peter Holohan, Cindy House, Joseph Holohan and Colleen Rajkowski; he was predeceased by a niece Deborah Coleman and two nephews John Morris and Jeffrey Coleman. He is also survived by many grand nieces and grand nephews. Funeral from the Stanton-Farrell Funeral Home, 326 Columbia St., Cohoes Wednesday morning at 9:15 and at St. Pius X Church at 10:00 a.m. His interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Cohoes. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Donations to the Alzeimer's Association, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206 in memory of Jerry would be appreciated.

Mr Coleman was a teacher of mine in the class of 77 he was a great guy and wonderful teacher he will be sadly missed by those who he taught and who knew him
