Alice Aubin Obituary

Aubin, Alice Marie WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. Alice Marie Aubin, 95, (born Marie Blanche Joly), passed away peacefully in West Palm Beach on November 14, 2007 after a long illness. Alice was predeceased by her husband Raymond A. Aubin; her brothers and sister, Raoul Joly, Henry Joly, John Joly, Roger Joly and Simone Wright. Alice came into this world on October 31, 1912 in St. Beatrix Quebec. She was the first daughter and fourth of six children born to Pierre and Eva Joly. In 1923, the Joly family moved from St. Beatrix to Cohoes, N.Y. She married Raymond A. Aubin in May 1937. They settled in Waterford, N.Y. where they raised their family. Alice was a very generous and energetic person. Her highest priorities in life were her husband and family for whom she worked tirelessly. She owned and operated Alice's Beauty Salon in Cohoes from the age of 17 until her retirement in 1977. During her professional life, she acquired many lifelong friends and long term clients. She was active in the Ladies Auxiliary at LaSalle Institute, being a board member then president during the late 1950s, a member of the Cohoes Memorial Hospital Ladies Auxiliary during the early 1970s and was active in the St. Ambrose Rosary Society. Alice is survived by her children, Raymond J. Aubin and his wife Diane of Milton, Vt., Robert J. Aubin and his wife Denise of Sydney, Australia and Monique Owens of Boynton Beach, Fla. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Eric Aubin and his wife Elizabeth of Essex Junction, Vt., Jason M. Aubin of Williamstown, N.J., Joelle (Aubin) Cano and her husband Herve of Toulouse, France, Robert M.J. Aubin and his fiancee Karen Schmitt of Sydney, and her great grandchildren, Alex J. Aubin of Essex Junction, Maela and Alessia Cano of Toulouse; and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may join the family in celebrating her life on Thursday, December 13, 2007 at the Marra Funeral Home, 246 Remsen St., Cohoes from 9-10:15 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Ambrose Church in Latham at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be with her beloved husband, Raymond, at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford. Those who wish may make donations in Mrs. Aubin's memory to LaSalle Institute, 174 Williams Rd., Troy, NY 12180.

MONNIQUE, I'm SUPPRISED to see your mom lived such a long life.She treated me like royalty and I'll never forget her or that great cole slaw she made.I saw where Mary Ferris passed away last weekand by the way, my daughter, Nadine, now 41, gave birth to an 8#9.oz baby boy yesterday. She also has a 10 year old girl.
