John R. Fox

Fox, John R. GLENMONT John R. Fox, 89, of Glenmont, died Monday, December 10, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Colchester, Ill. on September 14, 1918, he was the son of the late Frank and Elizabeth Swanson Fox and brother of the late Ralph Fox. For 36 years, he worked as a flight engineer for TWA at Kennedy Airport in New York prior to retirement. Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joan (Foley) Fox; his daughter, Sheila Valenti (Philip) of Delmar; three sons, Gerald Fox (Diane) of McDonough, Ga., Roland Fox (Lorraine) of Syracuse, N.Y. and Shawn Fox (Joan) of Pewaukee, Mich.; a sister, Freda Holeman (Kenneth) of Galesburg, Ill.; nine grandchildren, Patricia, Wendy, James, Kathy, Terri, Kevin, Todd, Michael and Christine and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the St. Peter's Hospital CCU for the care John received during his stay there. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday morning from 9:00 to 10:00 at the Applebee Funeral Home, 403 Kenwood Ave., Delmar. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 35 Adams Pl., Delmar. Burial will be in St. Ann's Cemetery, Wells, N.Y. in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Assn., 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206 or the St. Thomas School Library, 42 Adams Pl., Delmar, NY 12054.
