Michael Cuozzo Obituary

Cuozzo, Michael D. CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. Mr. Michael D. Cuozzo, 78, of Clifton Park, died Tuesday, December 26, 2006 at Ellis Hospital. Born on May 24, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y. He was the son of the late Daniel and Rose Cuozzo. He was a graduate of Bishop Loughlin High School and was a member of their national championship track team which was featured in Life Magazine. She graduated from Manhattan College with a B.S. in electrical engineering and had a professional engineering license. Mr. Cuozzo served two years at the U.S. Naval Academy in Pensacola, Fla. and three years in the U.S. Army at Dugway Grounds, Utah. He was employed at the Brooklyn Naval Shipyard and designed the lighting and electricity for the U.S. Carriers, Intrepid and Saratoga. He went on the trial runs of each ship in the North Sea and Mediterranean. In 1953, he married his wife of 54 years, Rosemarie, who survives along with their children, Dr. Daniel Wm. Cuozzo and his wife Susan of Oneonta, N.Y. and son, Michael of Latham, N.Y. He has four grandchildren, Benjamin and Claire Louise, Alden and Jessica; his two sisters, Virginia Rusinski and son, Anthony of Stroudsburg, Pa., Angela Tansino and husband Francis of Burlington, Mass. with their sons, Dr. Gary Tansino and wife Debbie of Wallingford, Conn. and son, Greg Tansino and wife Lisa of Billerica, Mass. He also has three nieces, Lorraine Smith and husband Malcolm Hudson, Fla., Michele Fazio and husband Frank Clifton Park and their children, Danielle and Frank; Annette Morere and husband Dr. Donald Morere Clifton Park and their children, Lauren and Ashley. In 1965, Michael and family moved from Brooklyn to Amsterdam, N.Y. and resided there for 25 years. He was employed by Mohasco Corp. as an electrical engineer. In his years in Amsterdam, he was very active in the local community. He coached Little League Baseball and basketball, assistant scoutmaster of Troop 50 and recipient of the Pelican Award, past president of the Amsterdam High School Football Booster Club, active in Amsterdam H.S. Wrestling and was a lector at St. Mary's Church. He was an avid golfer and bowler. In 1987, he relocated with Mohasco to Manassas, Va. for eight years and then retired to Clifton Park. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Thursday morning at 11:00 at St. John the Evangelist Church, Schenectady. There will be no calling hours. Burial will be in Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, Niskayuna. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by the Gleason Funeral Home.

I haven't seen you folks for sometime and didn't realize we were living so close to one another.
We have many fond memories to share as we look back at the Cub Scout& Boy Scout program of The Mc Nulty School also the PTA.
I was just looking at a photo of the Boy Scouts as they posed for a group photo before leaving for Scout Camp.Daniel was standing in the front row by Emanuel.
