Your laughter and enthusiasm for life will never be forgotten. I always loved the gator outfits and sense of humor that helped us get through the day. Fletcher Middle will never be the same without you. I appreciate the lighthouse painting that’s in my guestroom, and I always think of you when I look at it. You have left Fletcher Middle with a void that will never be replaced.

Our loss is heavens gain. My boys who both had JoAnne are very sad and have shared what a wonderful person and teacher she was. I have "Hammock Nap" framed in our home and it is even more beautiful now knowing she painted it! Justin I have not met you but the times I talked to your mom were enough to know how much she adores and loves you! Very proud mother. We will all miss her at FMS very much. Our thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you and your family.

JoAnne Brown was my Mother and Sister's next door neighbor. My family always spoke highly of her wonderful paintings.

May this poem I have written for family and friends needing comfort bring some comfort to JoAnne's family.

________________________

I’ll Always Be

On earth I was God’s solider.
On earth I was a friend.
On earth I was a mother,
And a loved one;
Til the end.

Some say I was “More Than Special”
Some say I was above them all.
Some say I dealt with reason.
Some say I was their beckoning call.

But this was not my mission,
my mission was my love.
And now my mission's over.
To be with my master up above.

A peaceful, restful journey
Is now what I must take.
And praise God for his glory
for in his arms I’ll wake.

But through it all I'll remember.
The love that walked with me.
The cherishing and guidance
which led me to be free.

I'll rest now from all worries.
I'll rest now from all despair.
I'll rest where angels glory.
As God's hand leads me there.

And as you have the memories.
Of what we all have shared.
Remember that I loved you.
And thanks for being there.

For “I” will always be.

Uncle Joe, Dan, Mike, Phil, Justin, and families, we were shocked to hear of JoAnne's passing. Our prayers are with all of you. We had so much fun with JoAnne when she was up on the St. Lawrence River two summers ago. Her artistic talent was fantastic! Her love for all of you was obvious. Cherish those wonderful memories and she will always be with you in your hearts.

Our hallway is going to feel so different without your presense, your laugh, and your outfits that showed your enthusiasm for the Gators. Really, really going to miss our daily greetings to each other in those same hallways.

I, too, thank you for your gift of the painting "Summer Seats." It is a beautiful painting of the chairs and the sea. But, alas, the beach chairs are empty and so is my heart.

JoAnne, I will forever miss our "chats" in the teacher's mail room about our kid's progress and about Danny and Jeannie. You always had a smile on your face no matter what else was going on around us. Our faculty meetings were brightened by your colorful details and humor. "Life is Good!" JoAnne, paint the evening sky with your beautiful colors! I'll be watching for that sunset over the intracoastal.

Justin, Uncle Joe, Dan, Michael, Philip, All My Cousins, & their Families: Last year just before Christmas Joanne braved the traffic and we meet for lunch. It was a special time and we covered lots of ground. Although, I do not see all of you often and some I have never met, however through Uncle Joe and Aunt Therese, I have gotten to know all of you.
I loved Joanne's artwork - loved the colors and always the vibrant flair of expression. My thoughts, prayers, and love are with you all, Dale (AZ)

JoAnne,
Your laughter and enthusiasm for life will never be forgotten. You touched our lives in so many ways. Our school will never be the same without you. You lit up the campus with your presence.
I will always be grateful for the Jaguar print you gave me. Every time I look at it, I think of you. May God give your family and friends strength during this difficult time.

It was my pleasure to have met JoAnne a few times while I was legal secretary to Dan at Shands. The memory of her smile and personality will be forever remembered. May our God's sustaining grace rest upon each of the family. Additionally, I pray for the healing hand of our Lord to restore Dan to his good health.
