Charles Santangelo Obituary

BRISTOL, Tenn. – Charles G. "Chuck" Santangelo, age 64, of 113 Brookwood Drive, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 29, 2007.
Chuck was born in Norristown, Pa., Aug. 15, 1942. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loved serving his church. He also loved woodworking and enjoyed doing ink and watercolor drawings as a hobbies. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a mechanical engineer before his retirement from Correct Air in Willoughby, Ohio, in 2001. During his time in Ohio, he was an active member of Mentor Plains United Methodist Church in Mentor, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Matthew and Angeline Santangelo of Norristown, Pa.; and a brother, Harry Santangelo of Boston.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary A. Fleenor Santangelo of the home; son, Chris Santangelo and wife Denise of Bristol Tennessee; loving grandsons, Andrew, Matthew and Daniel Santangelo; daughter, Angie Santangelo of Columbus, Ohio; sisters, Katherine Savini of Newtown Square, Pa., Nancy Paschall of Limerick, Pa., Susan Scharff of Norristown and Marianna Gockley of Landsdale, Pa.; brother, Matthew "Matty" Santangelo of Pennsburg, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007, at 8 p.m. at Virginia Avenue Methodist Church, with the Rev. James T. Oxendine, the Rev. Jerry B. Fleenor and a dear friend, Dave Chase, officiating. Committal service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. at the National Cemetery in Mountain Home, Tenn., with military honors presented by the Bristol VFW Honor Guard. Honorary pallbearers will be church family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Virginia Avenue Methodist Church, 1127 Virginia Ave., Bristol, Tenn.; or to the American Cancer Society, 508 Princeton Road, Suite 102, Johnson City. Online condolences may be registered at www.weaverfuneralhome.net.
Weaver Funeral Home and Cremation Services is assisting with arrangements.

Chuck was a neat individual. We became very good friends with Chuck and Mary when they were in Bryan, Ohio. He was a man of many talents and cared about the well-being of his family and friends. He loved the Lord and I know that he is with Him today in paradise...with no more suffering, no more pain.
