Lance:
I know that this is quite a late entry, but my thoughts and prayers are with you nonetheless. She is with Christ Jesus and is in a much better place now. We must have absolute faith in that one.
Take care of yourself. God bless you and your family.
Let's remember and cherish memories of the good old days.

Lance, I never had the opportunity to meet your wife, but I do want to express my sympathy for your family's great loss. She must have been a beautiful lady.
My prayers are with you all.

P.S. You may recall my son Ray was in your band at CDO on t-bone.

To Lance, Lance Patrick, Claire, and Tom,
I just learned of Maria's passing today. Please accept my hearfelt sympathies at this difficult time. I was in fact thinking of your family just last week, and the time that I spent "growing up" around the Hoopes family. You all have a special place in my heart and I know that Maria will be greatly missed. My prayers are with you all. What a wonderful legacy of grandchildren! With love,
Jan (Butler) Lorenzen

A deep bow to Maria, who taught us how to live, and to Lance, who so eloquently honored and reflected her spirit. It's a joy to recall her friendship in the various decades of a rich life. -- Ford Burkhart, NYC

It was a great pleasure knowing Maria when she worked as a librarian at the University of Arizona for 12 years of her life. She was a remarkable reference librarian and a wonderful, thoughtful friend.

I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to have known the Hoopes family as a young child. They were gracious enough to help me obtain a clarinet to play in the school band and I returned the favor by often sitting with their children. I was so saddened today upon reading of Mrs. Hoopes passing. She was a kind and gentle woman and has a wonderful family. I was happy to see that her children provided her and Mr. Hoopes with many grandchildren. May she rest in peace. A grateful friend from long ago who never forgot the Hoopes family.

Remembering Maria's work in libraries, her interest in serving the Spanish speaking, and her sense of humor. Please accept my condolences.

Our deepest heartfelt sympathy goes out to Lance, Patrick, Claire and Tom and to all Maria's beautiful grandchildren. Maria Segura Hoopes was an extraordinary woman who brought love, laughter, intelligence, kindness, generosity and caring to everyone around her and to all those she knew. She touched us all and for that, we are so very grateful. May she rest in everlasting peace.

Maria will always be remembered as a positive person. She loved the arts and appreciated the Sonoita home she shared with her soulmate, Lance.
