I am very sorry for your loss. I went to High School with Richard. I was a grade behind him but we were good friends. I have not seen him since High School. My heart goes out to you and all of his family members. He was a wonderful person. I have very fond memories of him at High Point Hight School. My prayers will be with you and your children.

To the Findley family, I express my deepest condolences on behalf of the of the Bentley family. My father is a member of the Metropolitian Police Department and I know how much dedication and hard work these officers put into there job. I know you will miss him in flesh, but he will ALWAYS be with you in Spirit. Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. I and my family will keep your family lifted up in prayer and ask God to give you all the strength to get through this. God Bless you all.

To Kelly Findley and your two lovely daughters. I cannot stop crying for you. I pray for you and your girls. I am married to a DC police officer so I know how dangerous the job can be. It seems like Richard loved what he did as well as loving life, you, and his girls. Take comfort in that. We will continue to pray for your well being.

Dear Findley Family,
I wish to express my very deepest sympathies for your tragic loss. My name is Leslie and I grew up on Holly Ct. in Calverton - often playing with Sherri, Kim and Suzanne. My husband is a Mont. Co. officer and works with Debbie. As the wife of a police officer and simply as a member of society I am just horrified to think about what you must be going through. I will continue, however, to hope that the love and support of your family and friends and the prayers of people that you don't even know can somehow carry you all through this terrible time.

Sincerely,

Leslie (Young-Levin) Iacoviello

Kelly....I am still praying for you and the girls to find comfort in this time that is so hard. Ive known Richie since I was 15 and the advice he has given me in years past has molded some of who I am. You and I were friends in a time before and you know that I am always here, no matter what you need!

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

I grew up with Richard in Calverton. He was always upbeat with a mischievious grin on his face that would always make you laugh. He was so good at volleyball. He could jump so high and then hang there. He was like Spiderman. I can still remember those windy days at Calverton Swim Club and Richard as a joke would serve the ball a million miles high in the air and then watch the other side scramble for it. At High Point, for winter volleyball, you would have to watch out b/c Richard could block spikes with the best of them.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the Findley family.

To the Findley Family,
I am very saddened to hear of the loss of Richard. My prayers go out to you. I am going to miss Richard's enthusiasm and humor. The last time I saw Richard was in high school. He and I grew up in Calverton and we had a lot of classes together from elementary school through high school. My memories of Richard are of him always smiling from ear to ear with a look in his eye that would make one think - "Okay Rich, what did you just do?". He was always so happy. I recall how he was excited and enthusiastic at all that he did. I am grateful to have known Richard and I will miss him very much.

God Bless.

To the Findley Family - I am deeply sorry for your loss. The last time I saw Richard was years ago when he was around 6 yrs. old, maybe younger, and I would come over to play with Sherri. At that young age Richard was always cute and smiley and full of energy. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless.

Dear Findley family, My entire family has been devistated by this sensless tragedy Rich and our son Richard were best friends during their teen years. Even after that they remained in touch though not quite as close as before due to working hours. Our son is a D.C. Fire Fighter and their schedules did not leave much time for them to get together. But Rich never lost a freind and did see Richard a few months ago. It is hard to believe that I will never see that smiling face, hear the funny noises, and chat with the best friend Richard ever had.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you always.
