The outpouring of condolences and love truly warms my heart. I was thinking of my little cousin a while ago and found myself searching for her obituary. It truly brought me comfort to be able to see the ways in which Pretty Girl has touched so many lives in twelve short years. I thank you personally and on behalf of our family for sharing your thoughts with us. Continue to remember her and keep her in your heart.

When I think of Glenn, I think of her wonderful smile. She passed through the health room between classes often, just to say "hello" to me here at Wood MS. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Glenn was a student in my 5th period English class at Wood last year. Enthusiastic and full of energy, she was an integral part of this wonderful class. I remember a beautiful poem she wrote about a rose – it was just a few brief lines – but it was lovely. Glen liked to act as well. That class in particular enjoyed performing for each other very much. She had an innate energy and persevered many times to do her best on assignments. I will miss seeing her in the halls of Wood this year. Even though Glenn could be rather headstrong, deep down I will treasure the fact that I was fortunate enough to teach her because she made a positive difference in my life by making me a better teacher. She was a part of the Earle B. Wood family and will be missed. My condolences to her family during this difficult time. Dr. Seuss said “don’t’ cry because it’s over – smile because it happened.” May memories be a source of comfort at this time to the entire Ellis family.

I will always remember Glenn's smile and laughter. I taught Glenn when she was in the 4th grade at Carole Highlands Elementary School. Angels are surrounding Glenn now. To her family, yes she will be truly missed. Keep the sweet memories and love of God in your hearts.

Hayley is our 7th grade daughter at Wood. Last year she met Glenn early the first day of school; their hall lockers were a locker apart and later, they would meet up again at the lockers in gym class. Hayley began her day saying “Hello” to Glenn and walking to Homeroom with her. They shared three classes and Hayley enjoyed seeing and spending time with Glenn. Glenn was a bright spot in Hayley’s day. She was a kind, gentle and loving friend. They ended each day saying “good-bye”. Glenn was a very special and dear girl.

Glenn was a friend with whom Hayley was looking forward to spending time with again this year. She will always be missed.

The bible teaches us and, in Faith, we believe that Glenn has begun her Journey. You will hold her in your arms again someday. We know that her spirit is with us and she is walking in heaven with Jesus Christ.

Glenn and your family are close in our hearts and in our prayers.

Dear Ellis family,

Your little Glenn will be remembered by the Maryvale Elementary community as a sweet, helpful, friendly girl. We are walking with you in this pain and sorrow, knowing that no words or explanations make any sense, but also steadfast in the knowledge that God knows your grief, He cares about your every heartbeat and your every tear, and He is with you every second. God wants you to go on, and He promises you will know joy again in this life. You will be with Glenn again in eternity. She is at peace, she is waiting, and she is surrounded by those who love her, who have gone on before her to welcome her to Heaven. In the meantime, your friends and neighbors are here to love and support your whole family, and to remind you that even in this short life, Glenn made a difference. She will be remembered with love.
Very sincerely,

Bob, Priscilla, Willie, Danny and Mary Grace (Maryvale student) Quackenbush

To The Family of Glenn Ellis,
I have known Glenn all of her life. As the Bookmobile Librarian, for 32 years and having met hundreds of children there are a few who just stand out. Glenn was one of them. We had a chat on the Bookmobile just two weeks ago about school, how her summer had been and our usual fun conversation. She had a little cousin with her and delighted in sharing a book with this young child. This was the Glenn I knew. My heart goes out to the family and I to share in your loss. May you find strength and my prayers are with you.

Sincerely,
Susie Andrews

I remember my beautiful little cousin best at my Aunt Marion's funeral. She was two at the time and after the funeral, she was sitting in the back of her mother's car just crying "buckets." When I asked Rita why she was crying, she answered and said "she wants hear 'No Scrubs' by TLC." I told Rita to put that CD in and play that song for Glenn. As soon as the song started playing, the tears were still flowing, but she was bouncing to the music." I thought she was the cutest thing. I never forgot that moment. And that moment is how I will remember Glen.

Peace
cousin Rosita
