Susie Goins Obituary

GOINS MOUNT AIRY - Mrs. Susie Helen Montgomery Goins, age 102, of 1329 Lorraine Smith Road, Mount Airy, died Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at her home. She was born January 6, 1907 in Patrick County, VA to the late Matt Madison & Amanda Shelor Montgomery. Mrs. Goins was a retired restaurant worker and a member of Word of God Baptist Church. She is survived by daughters: Hazel Hunter of Mount Airy & Mary Wall of Mount Airy; twenty-eight grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Gladys Hill of Ramseur, NC. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Goins was preceded in death by her husband, Sam P. Goins; daughters, Shirley Bryant Rogers & Elva Jean Parker; sons, S.A. Goins & Floyd Goins; and several brothers & sisters. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 31, 2009 at 4 p.m. at Friendly Chapel Church, Pilot Mountain, NC, conducted by Brother Don Collins & Brother J.K. Faries with interment to follow in the Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 30, from 6-8 p.m. at Friendly Chapel Church, Pilot Mountain. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Friendly Chapel Church, PO Box 425, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. Howell-Nelson Funeral Service of Pilot Mountain is serving the family. My thought's and prayer's are with during this difficult time. I hope it bring's you peace to know that "Susie"
lived a long and productive life.She touched so many people's live's and my Daddy "Hassell" was just one, of many other's.Keep her in your heart's and she will alway's be there with you.
