Wayne G. Fisher

Wayne Graham Fisher, 65, of Max Meadows died Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2008, at his residence. Funeral service will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, at 1 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Donald E. Drake and Pastor Charles Wright officiating. Interment will be in West End Cemetery with American Legion Post 9 conducting graveside military rites. He was born Sept. 2, 1943, in Wytheville, son of the late Robert A. and Margaret Dodgion Fisher. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a retired brick mason from Virginia Management Corp. He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by two brothers, William P. "Bill" and Earl K. Fisher. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Jackson Fisher of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky and Joe Allen of Fredericksburg, Mary Beth and Mile Copsey of Centreville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Greg and Kasey Fisher, Eric and Cindy Fisher, all of Max Meadows; two sisters, Pat Imler and Nan Soles, both of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; three brothers, George Fisher of Wytheville, Alfred Fisher of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Michael Fisher of Williamsport, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville is in charge of the arrangements.
