Tony Authenreath Obituary

Mr. Tony Rhea Authenreath, 72, a former well-known resident of Abingdon, passed away on Friday, Oct. 31, 2008. He had spent the last two years in Arkansas with his son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Aileen Cummings. He was born in Pound, Va., the son of the late Garnet Lee and Lena Josephine Callahan Authenreath and was preceded in death by his brother. He was a truck driver and was of the Presbyterian Faith. Survivors include two sons, Paul Cummings and wife, Aileen, of Judsonia, Ark., and Tony Authenreath Jr. of Tennessee; two sisters, Libby Jane Farley and husband, William, and Mary Ann May, all of Abingdon; one brother, Jimmy Authenreath of Florida; one sister-in-law, Kathy Authenreath of New Jersey; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Tony R. Authenreath were conducted Nov. 3 in the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry A. Eggers officiating. Burial was in the State-Line Cemetery in Laurel Bloomery, Tenn. Friends and Family served as pallbearers. I met your family two years ago in an attorney's office. I was impressed by what a sweet, kind man Mr. Authenreath was, and was very moved by how much you loved him. He was blessed to have such a loving family. I suspect you have many wonderful memories from the years before he became ill. May those comfort you now.
