Geraldine Johnston Tuggle

Geraldine Johnston Tuggle, age 71 of Doran, Va., went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Oct. 29, 2008 following an accident in Honaker, Va. She was born in Lamar, W.Va., on April 20, 1937, daughter of the late Earl and Audrey Pierce Johnston. She was retired from the Tazewell County School System as a custodian at Richlands High School after many years of faithful service. Geraldine was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her family; a wonderful friend to many in her community and church, Raven Assembly of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Junior Johnston; sisters, Louise Myrtle Sutphin and Edith Mabrey. Surviving are five sons, Gary Tuggle and wife, Karen, of Abingdon, Michael Tuggle and wife, Joan, of Raven, Douglas Tuggle and wife, Cindy, of Raven, Bruce Tuggle and wife, Rebecca, of Raven and Sammy Tuggle and wife, Peggy, of Raven; two daughters, Wanda Guy and husband, Donald, of Doran and Debbie Melvin and husband, Tommy, of Bluefield, Va.; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geneva Deskins of Tazewell and Eula Mae Dye of Princeton, W.Va. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. Sat., Nov. 1, 2008 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va., with Pastor Dennis Whited officiating. Burial followed in the Tuggle Family Cemetery in Swords Creek, Va. Pallbearers were grandsons and friends.
