Caroline H. Wing

Caroline Handy Wing, 75, of Crossett, Ark., died Friday, Nov. 7, 2008, in Crossett. A memorial service was held Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Presbyterian Church of Crossett with the Rev. Bonnie Milligan officiating. The cremated remains will be interred in the Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap. She was born June 8, 1933, in Appalachia, daughter of the late Dr. Frank E. and Ruth Smith Handy. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Crossett. She had worked for Georgia Pacific and was a librarian in Virginia for many years until purchasing the Blue Ridge Book Store in Wytheville. She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Wing of Crossett, Ark.; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas J. and Karen Wing of Raleigh, N.C.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Andy McCay of Crossett, Ark., Deborah Wing-Leonard and Chris of Friendswood, Texas; two stepchildren, Robert D. Wing and wife Linda of Brandon, Miss., and Sally Simpson of Pride, La.; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Memorial may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Crossett, 309 Pine Street, Crossett, AK 71635; or the Crossett Public Library, 1700 Main Street, Crossett, AK 71635. Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark., was in charge of the arrangements.
