Ida H. King

Ida "Granny" Harden King, 95, of Bland died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008. A graveside service was held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m. at the Bland Cemetery with the Rev. Bobby Lorton officiating. She was born Oct. 4, 1913, in Ceres, daughter of the late David Morgan and Mary Neal Harden. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. King; two sons, Elwood King and Serber King; grandson, Ronald King; and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Karl and Mary King of Bland; a sister, Anna Belle Dillow of Bland; three grandsons, Matt King and Mark King, both of Bland, and Jerry King of Stafford; special niece, Eileen Belcher of Bland; special friends, Jeff Dunn, Kathryn Dunn and Kristen Dunn; and several other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the Bland Cemetery Fund; Bland County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 585, Bland, VA 24315; or the Bland County Fire Department, P.O. Box 25, Bland, VA 24315. Highland Bland Funeral Home in Bland was in charge of the arrangements.
