William Johnson Obituary

William Kenneth Johnson, 81, died Nov., 13, 2008 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn. He was born in Seven Mile Ford to the late Lona and Charles W. Johnson and was preceded in death by a son, Charles S. Johnson, two brothers, Randolph (Randy) Johnson and Harry Alfred Johnson, and a brother-in-law, James W. Buchanan. He was a retired truck driver with Roy Stone and R.P. Thomas Trucking Co. in Martinsville. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Simons Johnson; two sons, William Kenneth Johnson Jr. and wife, Susan, of Bristol, and Dennis R. Johnson and wife, Lyndia, of Marion; five brothers, Paul Johnson and wife, Martha, of Lake Mary, Fla., Herbert (Turk) Johnson and wife, Lorraine (Penny) of Groseclose, Joe Johnson and wife, Rose, of Marion, and Ervin Johnson and wife, Darlene, of Marion; two sisters, Betty Buchanan of Goldsboro, N.C., and Jeanette Smith and husband, Joe, of Marion; two-sisters-in-law, Dorothy H. Johnson and Bess Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 16, at Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with the Rev. Ray Haskin and the Rev. Jason McNeese officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Middle Fork Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wellmont Hospice House, 1 Medical Park Blvd., Bristol, TN 37620 or to Middle Fork Cemetery, P.O. Box 613, Chilhowie, VA 23419 The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home, Marion, is in charge of arrangements.
