Josie Plaster

Josie Plaster, age 87 of Swords Creek, Va. passed away Mon., Nov. 10, 2008 at her home. Born Aug. 16, 1921 in Honaker, Va., she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Cora Musick Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Plaster; one son, John McGraw; four sisters, Fonnie Noel, Myrtle Tuggle, Edna Dye and Ellen Elswick; three brothers, Nathan Cox, Sterling Cox and Toll Cox. She is survived by three daughters, Oma Shaw of Ontario, Calif., Linda Jessee and husband, Barry, of Swords Creek and Shirley Curry and husband, David, of Richlands; two sons, Bobby McGraw and wife, Barbara, and Jackie Mabe, all of Richlands; one sister, Judy Lambert of Cedar Bluff; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; special friends, Andy and Cathy Clifton; and caregiver, Donna Sparks. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sat., Nov. 15, 2008 at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel at Cedar Bluff, Va., with Rev. R.B. Lambert officiating. Burial followed in the Clinch Valley Memorial Cemetery at Richlands, Va. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
