James Dalton Obituary

James Harrison "Dee" Dalton, 60, died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2008 in Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion. He was born in Smyth County to the late William G. and Bessie Evans Dalton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Dalton, and a sister, Carol Wymer. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He had been employed at Sherwood Manufacturing in Chilhowie for several years. Survivors include three brothers, Jack Dalton and wife, Ann, of Marion, Garnett Dalton and wife, Faye, of Marion and Allen Dalton of Marion; one sister, Jean Havens of Marion; and several nieces, nephews, cousin, former co-workers and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, from Bradley's Funeral Home Chapel in Marion with the Rev. Bobby Blevins officiating. Interment will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens with full military honors rendered by Francis Marion VFW Post 4667. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6 -8 p.m. at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.bradleysfh.com. Bradley's Funeral Home of Marion is in charge of arrangements.
