Hazel Marie Pruitt

Hazel Marie Pruitt, 84, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother died Nov. 29, 2008. She was born the middle daughter of Robert Clyde and Emma Jane (Buchanan) Jackson in Plum Tree, N.C. She married Thearl Pruitt on March 17, 1945 and considered her five children her greatest blessing. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Fred, Frank and Carl, son, Gary and daughter, Rosemarie. Survivors include her sisters, Addie Brooks of Marion and Lola Pruitt of Valley City, Ohio; sons, Larry of Pleasanton, Kan., and Robert of Fort Chiswell, daughter, Pamela Pruitt-Baker of Andover, Kan.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with the Rev. David Neitch officiating. The family received friends from 6 p.m. until time of service.
