Mary "Tootie" Crouse

Mary "Tootie" Crouse, 44, of Abingdon passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008.  She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, and was a daughter of Gay B. Moser of Damascus, and the late Everett Barr.  Mrs. Crouse worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Renaissance House in Abingdon.  In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Becky Barr and one brother, Stanley Barr.   In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her husband, Avery Patterson Crouse; two daughters, Elaina Crouse and Katie Crouse, both of Meadowview; one son, Jacob Crouse of Bristol, Va.; her stepfather, Marshall Moser of Mountain City, Tenn.; four sisters, Marilyn Riffey and Sandra Barr, both of Abingdon, Patricia Barr of Glade Spring and Melissa Jennings of Damascus; one brother, Terry Moser of Chilhowie; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted Dec. 5 in Garrett Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Griffin Jr. officiating.  The committal service and interment was Dec. 6 at Whitetop Baptist Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent and a video may be viewed by visiting www.garrettfuneralhome.com.  Mrs. Crouse and her family are in the care of Garrett Funeral Home, Damascus.
