Mildred Campbell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Dec. 9 to Dec. 17, 2008.
Mildred Ann Arnold Campbell, 79, died Dec. 5, 2008, after a long and difficult battle. The Lord was kind and gracious to her and her family by granting her a peaceful and painless death assisted by his angels at Valley Health Care and the Washington County Hospice Program. She died surrounded by the children who loved her more than life itself. She was loved dearly by all who ever came in contact with her, and whose days were brightened by her kind words and compliments. She was truly an angel of God sent here to make all our lives brighter and easier in this world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Campbell, parents, James (Foddershock) and Alice (Shug) Arnold, and brothers, Garland (Pig) and Ernest (Lefty) Arnold. Although her life was filled with many accomplishments, her greatest accomplishment according to her, were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include three children, Linda Cassell (Harold) of Salem and Jennifer Campbell Poore (Mark) and Jeffrey Lynn Campbell (Carie), both of Saltville; seven grandchildren, Tim and Ty Cassell (Kristy), Chelsea, Cassie, Jake and Chloe Campbell, and Trevor Poore; two great-grandchildren, Cayla and Madelyn Cassell; three sisters, Patsy Bise, Nancy Clark, and Judy Holmes; brother, Jimmy Arnold; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, at Henderson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dale Strange officiating. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Elizabeth Cemetery. The family received friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home D.R. Henderson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Jeff, Jennifer and families...When the Lord calls our loved ones home, he leaves a gift of memories in exchange. Mildred left so many fond memories and I know she will be greatly missed by all that knew her. May God bless and comfort you during this difficult time.

Jeff & Family,

It is with a broken heart, that I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. Mildred's friendship meant alot to me. I have loved her as if she were my own mother. I cherish the time I spent with her, while managing Battleground Apartments. She was a super-fine lady and was loved by all.

Jennifer/Jeff and families,
Your mother was one of a kind! She was so much fun to talk to and be around. I remember the visits to your house (playing cards, etc.) and how much she enjoyed seeing us all have fun. She was a great lady! God Bless all of you during this time of need and always!
