Danny L. Good

Danny Lee Good, 61, of Max Meadows died Monday, Jan. 5, 2009, at Wythe County Community Hospital in Wytheville. Funeral service was held Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. at the Barnett Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ron Kelley and Pastor Paul Suckling officiating. Interment was in West End Cemetery. He was born March 30, 1947, in Akron, Ohio. He was a member of the United Church of God AIA where he was ordained as an elder on April 3, 2002. He served congregations in Greensboro, Hickory and Asheville, all in North Carolina; Kingsport, Tenn.; Roanoke; and Princeton and Charleston, both in West Virginia. He was employed in the rubber industry for more than 40 years. He was president and CEO of Commonwealth Manufacturing and Development Inc. which he founded in 1997. He was preceded in death by his father, John Good; and a half brother, Terry Sims. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Good of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Joe Diamond of Willis; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Shawna Good of Max Meadows; mother, Alice McQuaid of Akron, Ohio; sister, Maria Jones of Akron, Ohio; two brothers and sister-in-law, Johnny Good of Florida, David and Ernestine Good of Akron, Ohio; two grandchildren, Ethan Diamond and Logan Diamond; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the United Church of God AIA, P.O. Box 541027, Cincinnati, OH 45254-1027. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
