Georgia Hall Pickett

Georgia Hall Pickett, age 79 of Tazewell, Va., passed away Fri., Jan. 9, 2009 at her home. Born March 17, 1929 in Tazewell, Va., she was a daughter of the late Harvey Painter Hall and Rettie Hunnell Hall. She worked hard all her life to provide a home for her family and always did her best at all she undertook in life. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, Sherman Pickett, Coy Pickett and Wayne Pickett; three brothers and five sisters. Survivors include one son, Melvin Andrew Pickett of Huntington Beach, Calif.; six daughters, Peggy Louise Lewis of Jenkinjones, W.Va., Rettie Jacqueline Gresham and husband, James, of Griffin, Ga., Nan Marie Sienkiewicz of Carrollton, Va., Tamara Lee Wells of Columbus, Ohio, Carolyn Jeanette Mullins, of Strasburg, Va., and Constance Lynette Hall of Tazewell, Va.; special nieces, Elizabeth Harman and Katie Hicks, both of Tazewell, Va.; 18 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; many beloved neighbors and friends. Graveside services were conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sun., Jan. 11, 2009 at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. Relatives and friends served as pallbearers. Those attending the graveside service met at Peery & St.Clair Funeral Home in Tazewell, Va., at 1:30 p.m. Sun., Jan. 11, 2009.
