Martha Haga Dolinger

Martha Haga Dolinger, 82, died Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at Norton Community Hospital. She was born in Konnarock and was the last surviving child of the late James Haga and Laura Poe Haga. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles H. Dolinger. She was a member of the Grosses Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include three children, Brenda Baker and husband, Brian, of Clintwood, Charlene Norman and husband, Foster, of Henderson, N.C., Gary Lee Dolinger and wife, Bonnie, of Chilhowie; seven grandchildren, Rebecca Kent, Wildy Dolinger, Melissa Sinclair, Courtney Vu, Mary Norman, Lydia Leap, Charlie Baker; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, at Grosses Creek Baptist Church in Chilhowie with the Rev. Avery Sheets and the Rev. Darrell Lambert officiating. Interment followed in Grosses Creek Cemetery.   Pallbearers were Wildy Dolinger, Foster Norman, Brian Baker, B.J. Sinclair, Matt Kent, Kenneth Miller, and Marshall Greer. Honorary pallbearers were Jack Dolinger, Kenneth Miller, Don Bowman, Roger Bowman, Darell Widner, and Ike Dolinger. The family received friends Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Bradley's Funeral Chapel in Chilhowie. Memorial contributions can be made to your local food pantry.
