Margaret Jarvis-Springer

Margaret Jarvis-Springer, 61, of Roanoke, died on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Springer, as well as her mother, Eva Cox Jarvis. Survivors include her father, Thomas Elmer Jarvis of Chilhowie; brothers, Tom and Linda Jarvis, of Madison, Ala., Danny and Rhonda Jarvis, of Bristol, Jeff Jarvis of Sugar Grove; and sister, Louise Jarvis-Shearer of Fairfax. She was deeply loved by her nieces and nephews and special friends, Bill Golding and Lori Jarvis. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 17, at Oakey's South Chapel in Roanoke with a funeral service to follow at 3:30 p.m. with Dr. John DeVerter officiating. Additional services will be conducted on Sunday, Jan. 18, at Sugar Grove Baptist Church where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. with a service to follow at 4:15 with the Rev. Billy Gwyn officiating. Burial will take place at the Hutton-Cox Family Cemetery in Sugar Grove.
