Lola Jones Parker

Lola Jones Parker, 86, died Monday, Jan. 12, 2009 in Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie. She was born in Grayson County to the late Edd and Burlie Davis Blevins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Fred Jones, her second husband, Raymond Parker, one brother, Howard Blevins, and two sisters, Idella Blevins Farmer and Ellen Blevins Warren. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene and had worked at Food City for many years. Survivors include one daughter, Judy Jones Ratcliffe of Brownsburg; one brother, Bill Blevins of Glade Spring; two sisters, Irene Price of Damascus, Lucy Walls of Marion; her grandchildren, Lindsey Ratcliffe Grimm and husband, Ian, of Staunton, Michael Ratcliffe of Brownsburg, and Cole Ratcliffe of Brownsburg. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 15, at Haw Orchard Baptist Church in Grayson County with the Rev. Ron Graham officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 W.
