Hugh Marvin Davenport, 90, of Damascus passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009, at Hermitage Health Center in Elizabethton, Tenn. He is survived by two daughters, Brenda Lindsey and her husband, Jerry, of Richmond and Martha McVey and her husband, Bill, of Granby, Conn.; one son, Charles Allen Davenport and his wife, Karen, of Bristol, Tenn.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted Jan. 16 in Garrett Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Wilson officiating. Condolences may be sent to the family and may be viewed by visiting www.garrettfuneralhome.com. Mr. Davenport and his family are in the care of Garrett Funeral Home, Damascus.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Davenport. As a child growing up next door at the Emmert's I was fond of times spent with Mae and Hugh and the rest tof the family. He was quite the character! He had a good long life and a kind and loving wife and family.
